Mass for All Souls is Saturday, November 2 at 9:00 am preceded at 8:30 am by First Saturday devotions and the Rosary. Following Mass we will gather at our Sacred Heart Columbarium Garden (around 9:45 am) for prayers for our deceased parishioners. Similar prayers will be offered at CedarVale Cemetery at 10:30 am the same day.
This weekend is it! This is the special second collection for our Food Basket Ministry. Please indicate "Food Basket" on your check or use your envelope. Volunteers are still needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas deliveries. Email foodbasket.shj@gmail.com to volunteer or with any questions you may have. Thank you for your time and generous donations.
You are invited to bring framed pictures of deceased loved ones to the church. You may either drop them off at the office or place them on the des-ignated table in the Narthex. They will be relocated to a special table in front of the church for All Souls Day where they will remain during the month of November. Please put your name and phone number SECURELY on the back of the photo. With questions, call Sandy Darnell 602 418-3414.
Did you know Formed has a collection of audio content centered on the lives and teachings of the saints? November would be a good time to explore this offering on Formed. You can go to the top left of the Formed site and click on the bars listing subjects. Next choose "Audio". You will find a collection under audiobooks that includes the listing "Saints/Audio". Selecting this will bring up a collec-tion of audio content centered on the lives and teachings of the saints. Haven't signed up for our free parish subscription to FORMED yet? Just go to www.FORMED.org  to register.

The K of C Silver Rose Celebration is an event that honors Our Lady of Guadalupe and promotes the sanctity of life, particularly in relation to the issue of abortion. The Silver Rose symbolizes the commitment of the Knights to defend the dignity of all human life. We celebrate this most worthy event following 9:00 am Mass on Tuesday, October 29 followed immediately by praying the Rosary and the litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
"Charity begins at home." The Food Basket committee relies on the generosity of Sacred Heart members to help provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food ( and at Christmas, gifts). Your time and donations are key to the success of this ministry. Email foodbasket.shj@gmail.com to volunteer and/or donate to the special collection October 26/27. Please indicate "Food Basket" on your check.
WHO WE ARE

Our Helping Hands Ministry recognizes that at times everyone needs help coping with sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances. Helping Hands volunteers stand ready to assist registered parishioners at turning points or in emergencies, providing help until problems are resolved or until permanent solutions are in place. Our volunteers realize that our prayers, care and support for those in need make a positive difference. Our ministry has been part of the solution for our parishioners since the 1980s.

WHAT WE DO

We provide transportation for those unable to drive to Mass, medical appointments and escort shopping. WE also shop and deliver groceries and supplies, make wellness checks and send sunshine cards to the homebound and those in care facilities. Our visits and/or respite care can be lifesavers for family caregivers. We provide practical information about local resources for those parishioners and their families in sudden transition. We will help you find solutions.

World Mission Sunday, observed on October 20 this year, is a powerful reminder of our call to be
missionaries. The collection taken up on this day is unique as it is mandated by the Code of
Canon Law and is essential for the survival and growth of the Church in mission territories. These
funds support the pastoral and evangelizing work of the Church, including building
churches, providing healthcare and education and trainig future priests and religious. In
places where resources are scarce, your generosity makes a profound difference. As we reflect on
the theme "Go and invite everyone to the banquet," let us remember that our participation and
support invite countless souls to the feast of God's love.
While we are always ready to help someone find out more about the Catholic Church and/or be formed
in the Catholic tradition toward a possible commitment through sacraments and initiation, the Fall
is a good time to get started! If you or someone you know is interested, please call Fr. Bill at
501 209-2502 for more information. It is always hoped that we can do this in a group setting with
multiple inquirers, so please respond soon.
Please mark your calendars for Friday, October 18 at 4:00 pm. Come join Fr. Bill to support Susan Giovengo, Chris Mullaney and Ike and Sonya Eisenhauer as they go "OverTheEdge" to raise funds for Jackson House. This event will take place in Hot Springs at 528 Central Avenue from the rooftop of Diablo's Mexican Restaurant.
