Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas
Next weekend, November 16/17, is the collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Through this appeal, you help people living in poverty and struggling on the margins of society by giving them a hand. One fourth (25%) of the funds received remain with Catholic Charities of Arkansas to assist our poor and vulnerable. Thank you, in advance, for your generous response.

The sisters of the Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Indiana, would like to thank you. We appreciate your in-kind donations of cancelled US and foreign stamps. Your donation makes a world of difference! Thank you for support of our ministry. You are in our prayers. God Bless!
Eucharistic Adoration offers a sacred time of stillness. By spending time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, it allows us to step away from the noise and busyness of daily life. It provides an opportunity to lay burdens before God, pray for loved ones and seek guidance. In this quiet space, hearts are open to a deeper awareness of God's presence and love. This stillness provides peace to the heart, calms anxieties and bring clarity to the mind. Eucharistic Adoration is a gift that invites us to pause, reflect and engage in a deep personal connection through prayer and reflection. Contact Mike Ritch regarding PEA 832 231-7469
Dr. Tim Gray wrote a book that delves into the biblical origins for each of the sacraments. Gray helps readers understand that Christ's deliberate acts were to inaugu-rate these sacred signs. He does this by guiding his readers through the Gospels. Go to "Sacraments in Scripture" by Tim Gray on your subscription to Formed to obtain this book. If you haven't signed up for your free parish subscription to Formed, go to www.FORMED.org  and register.
This special collection is taken up in all parishes nationwide Nov. 30/Dec. 1. Thousands of elderly sisters, brothers and religious order priests have spent years working in Catholic schools, hospitals, parishes and agencies, often for little pay. Their sacrifices leave their communities without adequate savings for elder care or retirement. Your gift provides for those who have given their entire life. For more information call 501 664-0340.
Wanted: One or two parishioners to assist with live streaming Sunday Mass and funerals on a rotating
basis. With one or two additional volunteers, the responsibility may be only one weekend a month. Funerals vary as family requests are made for this service. Training and a detailed step - by - step "User Guide" will be provided. Contact Shawn Clark at 713-419-4353 with interest. Thank you for your help!

The Angel Tree is up in the Narthex. Volunteers will be available this weekend to help you sign out your Angel(s). Return the wrapped gift to the tree with the Angel tag taped to the box with the information showing. Another label will be placed over the original to conceal the package contents.
Deadline for returning all gifts is Sunday, Dec. 8.
This date is firm to allow our volunteers time to inventory all returned gifts and to shop for unclaimed Angles or unreturned gifts.

The Angel Tree will be in the Narthex on November 16. We are assisting 140 children from 51 families this year. Each child has 4 Angels on the tree with suggested gift items to purchase along with their sizes. Online registration helps our volunteers track down any unreturned gifts. When you select your Angels from the tree before or after Mess, volunteers will be available to help sign out your Angel. If you select an Angel when volunteers aren't present, you can access the online form or there will be paper forms available for you to register your Angel(s).

Online Registration:
 Access the form via the URL link or QR code that
will be posted by the tree

 Enter your first and last name and phone number

 Enter the family letter, child number and gift
         number from your Angel tag

 If you select 2 Angels, enter the tag information
         for both on one form

 If you select 3 or more Angels, you will need to
        fill out a second form

 This can be done on a smart phone, laptop or tablet

Return the wrapped gift to the tree with the Angel tag taped to the top and the Angel information showing. A label will hide the package contents.
The Fall Fest Chili Dinner and Auction will be Saturday, November 23 at 5:00 pm in the Lower Hall. Bob Kulas will again make his famous chili with all the fixins. The meal will be complete with delicious homemade desserts. There will be a silent auction which will include gift certificates from many local restaurants and businesses as well as other donated items. The proceeds of the auction go to CIPD Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities. This is a good-will offering meal with baskets at each table and there will be sign-up sheets in the Narthex after all Masses November 9/10 and 16/17 prior to the event so that we will know how much food to prepare. Let's fill the Lower Hall for this worthy cause!

This year the November 21 feast, "The Presentation of the Blessed Mary" occurs on a Thursday. Formed offers life changing bible study from Dr. Scott Hahn which unveils the mystery of Mary woven into Sacred Scrip-ture. The study is called "The Bible and the Virgin Mary" and will help you to better understand the greatest woman who ever lived. Visit www.FORMED.org  and sign up for our free parish subscription.
