Join us on Thursday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lower Hall to view the movie, "Paul, Apostle of Christ." You will really enjoy this five-star movie: authentic looking scenery, beautiful photography and well-acted cast. It begins with Paul the Apostle who is jailed in Rome, and Christians that are being persecuted. Apostle Luke, at his own peril, comes to Rome to be with Paul. Interesting flash-backs of Paul's life follow.
Invite your neighbors to enjoy this movie with you! Popcorn, drinks and other snacks make for a grand evening. So, mark your calendars for Thursday, July 19, to meet in the Lower Hall.

St. Cecilia, one of the most famous of the early Roman martyrs and the patroness of musicians, is the focus of a dramatic audio produced by the Augustine Institute. The audio details the life of this virgin martyr whose faith and dedication to the teachings of Jesus have inspired generations of Christians who have found in her an example of remarkable courage and fidelity. The Augustine Institute describes the Ode to St. Cecilia as a "celebration of the important role of the arts in showing us the love of God;" at the same time, it is a reenactment of "the great sacrifice of her martyrdom." The audio is 128 minutes long and can be downlodaded for listening over several days.

FORMED.org offers a wealth of materials on three saints who lives are remembered in liturgies near the end of June: the Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist on June 24 and the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29. In his homilies on June 2-3, Father Bill reminded us of the desirability of our participation in these Solemnities. To come to a better understanding of the role of these three saints in Christian and salvation history, we might want to check out some of FORMED's resources: for Saint John the Baptist, look at Segment 3 in the Wild Goose series, "Baptism in the Holy Spirit and FIre." For Saints Peter and Paul, the series Footprints of God has two relevant programs, "Peter: Keeper of the Keys" and "Paul: Contending for the Faith."
