The first meeting of the 2019-2020 year for the Sacred Heart Men's Club will be on Tuesday, September 10 starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall. This is a meeting where the members, their wives or dates, and widows of deceased members, are invited to attend. At 5:00 p.m., you may join others in the Upper Hall to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for family, church, our nation, world peace, and your personal intentions. Social gathering in the Lower Hall is from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m. Dinner will be served before 6:00 p.m. Our entertainment for the evening will be music played by Dave Capella on his accordion. Dance or listen as you prefer. The dinner for the evening will be Beef Tips and gravy on buttered noodles, and includes a salad, mixed vegetables, rolls, and ice cream for dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 per person and will be catered by Johnna. This being the first meeting of our year, $12 annual dues will be collected at the meeting. If you know someone who is not a member, invite him and his wife/date to come and payment of his dues will get him a free dinner.
Also, the Chicken Bake will be held on Friday, September 27, so be ready to sign up to help at this event, one of our two major fundraisers for the year.

Tuesday, August 27 is the last day our produce truck will be here for the season. Please thank our farmer family, Tom and Jamie and family, for driving their produce truck to Sacred Heart. Be sure to stop and shop one last time for the season. The produce truck will be in the lower church parking lot from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A Parish Life coordinator supports each of the 11 committees within the commission: Ladies of the Sacred Heart, Knights of Columbus, Men's Club, Spades and Table Games, Singles, Bowling, Health and Wellness, Communications, Sociable Six, Newcomers, along with Hand and Foot. The commission is also responsible for various meals in the parish hall. The commission meeting is held on the first Wednesday evening of even months.

The commission has several specific committees: Helping Hands, the Rosary Makers, Shawl Ministry, Respect Life and Family Assistance. The commission meets on the fourth Friday of odd months after morning Mass.

On Sunday, September 15, the KofC would like to invite everyone to a Parish Breakifast. The menu will consist of sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, hash browns, juice, milk and coffee. This breakfast is being underwritten by Bill and Mary Lou George along with Mike and Ruth Kerwin. Breakfast is only $6.00 with children under 12 being free. Please come to a Spaghetti Dinner served family-style after the Saturday evening Mass on August 10. Our Fall Sociable Six program will take place the months of September, October and November. The program is very simple and flexible. Three couples will be grouped together and then arrange among themselves to share a simple dinner, lunch or brunch at alternate homes - once each month. We need both new member and many long-time parishioners to sign-up. Participants have enjoyed getting to know their fellow parishioners better in an informal setting! It is a great way for newcomers to get acquainted with members of their parish family.
