griefEVER WISH...........You could just talk with someone about your loss?  Or that there was a safe place to be with others who had suffered the loss of a loved one?  Feel like you are learning to adjust?  Good.  But you might help others by sharing what worked for you and what you still struggle with.  And they might be able to help you.  There is a place for just that!  We will begin two separate Grief Support Groups here at Sacred Heart.

  • There will be a group just for MEN meeting on Monday mornings, 10:00 a.m. starting September 23
  • There will be a separate group for WOMEN on Tuesday mornings, 10:00 a.m. starting September 24.
Both groups will meet for 6 weeks in the Library and the sessions will last one and a half hours.  Both groups will be facilitated by Deacon John.  If you know someone that has suffered a loss and could use support, anyone, they don't have to be a parishioner, invite them to attend.  The size of these groups are limited so if you wish to attend, please make a reservation by calling Deacon John at 226-9035 or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. crosses on field remembrance day clip art 23131The Balboa Baptist Church, Barcelona Road Baptist Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and Village Bible Church will all be co-sponsoring and participating in the Crosses For Life Memorial in the Village this year during the month of September.  This state-wide outreach project was originally started by Benton County Right To Life.  The crosses represent some of the 2000 plus pre-born children that die daily in the United States of America due to abortion.  The displays at each of the churches are to memorialize those children that were aborted and increase public awareness of the devastating effects of abortion.  As you drive by the churches and see the crosses, please say a prayer for the end of abortion in the United States.  Saint Mother Teresa was a champion of life and was quoted saying the following:  "And if we can accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another."

Thanks for the numerous volunteers that dedicated their time to place these symbolic crosses.  Due to unforeseen changes, the Service which was scheduled for Sunday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. here at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic CHurch will NOT be held as previosly announced.  The crosses will be displayed for the complete month of September.
