Sacred Heart will once again offer evening Mass on the Wednesdays of Lent at 5:30 p.m. with an opportunity to share in a light meal and short video afterwards. The video series titled, "Restored Stories of Encounter," presents the stories of ordinary people whose lives have been radically moved by Jesus Christ. Each video lasts about 25 minutes. The light meals will be prepared by various groups of the Parish Life Commission and will begin on Wednesday, March 4. The Singles group will be hosting the first meal: Chili with a vegetarian option being offered. Sign-ups for those planning to join us for the first light meal will be in the narthex this weekend, February 22/23. It is necessary to sign up for planning purposes.
Thank you to all who supported the basket program during the 2019 calendar year with donations of time and resources. We provided help to families in the Fountain Lake, Jessieville and Mt. Pine school districts. During the year we delivered 33 baskets for Easter, 31 for the Summer Program, 60 for Thanksgiving and 54 for Christmas; that is a total of 178 families helped. There are 509 children in those families. The amount spent on food given was approximately $16,500. At Christmas, 111 children were given 4 presents each with an approximate value of $9,000 along with a certificate for a pair of shoes with a value of over $4000. The total value of our parish's help to those families is over $35,000! Our parish continues to lead the way in helping those less fortunate. All of those who helped are truly doing God's work!

Dear Father Bill and Sacred Heart Family,
Thank you all so much for your hospitality and your generosity to us during and after our Sunday afternoon "Twelfth Day" concert. We love making music, and seeing all your appreciative faces during our efforts makes our music all the more meaningful to us.
We always enjoy sharing this fellowship time with you, both during our concert and afterwards at the festive crock pot supper. We hope to be able to keep this "Twelfth Day" tradition going for many years to come.
Sincerely,
All the SIngers of Voices Rising

Newly elected members will serve on the Parish Pastoral Council (PC) for a two year term representing the various commissions within the parish. Each elected member will serve in conjunction with another elected member of that same commission in which that member has already completed the first of their two year term. The new Parish Pastoral Council members are as follows:
Lord we pray that You send a spirit of encouragement to our newly elected Parish Council members so that they might walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which they have been called; lead them to walk with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for those around them in love, and that they diligently preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3)

Father BIll and I, Rosemary Monarque-Librarian, invite all parishioners, especially our youth, to come and browse through all of the acquired and donated materials. One will find books on topics such as Apologetics, Church History, Grieving and Healing, Saints, and Popes, to name a few. We even have a Youth section. I will, in the near future, invite the youth of our parish to come and check out a special section which has been created especially for them. For more information, you may contact Rosemary Monarque at 972-955-2929.
