Mens Club LogoThe next meeting of the 2019-2020 year for the Sacred Heart Men's Club will be on Tuesday, February 11, at 5:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall of the church. At 5:00 p.m., you may join others in the Upper Hall to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for family, Church, our nation, world peace, and your personal intentions. Social gathering in the Lower Hall is from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m. Dinner will be served before 6:00 p.m.

The speaker for the evening will be Brad Meredith who will update us on the latest information on our Hot Springs Village lakes. After dinner and the presentation by our speaker, there will be a short business meeting.

The dinner for the evening will be Salad, Smothered Chicken with gravy, Buttered Noodles, Green Beans, Rolls and Ice Cream for dessert. The cost of the dinner is $12 per person and will be catered by employees of Chef Johnna.  Any man who is a member of Sacred Heart Church or any non-Catholic husband of a wife who is a member of Sacred Heart Church, is invited to attend.  New members eat free by paying the $15 membership fee.

Baby ShowerThe babies that we spiritually adopted are due to be born in January 2020.  To welcome them into the world and celebrate the fact that new life is really among us, we are planning a Parish Baby Shower.  ALL parishioners are invited to participate.

A baby crib is set up in the Narthex until Sunday afternoon, January 12.  The new unwrapped gifts may be left in and around the crib or taken down to the upper hall.  Items specifically requested are:  Newborn diapers, size 3 and 4 diapers, any size diapers, onesies, newborn outfits, 0-3 month old clothing, baby wipes, 3-6 month old clothing, bibs, pacifiers, socks, crib sheets, baby washcloths, baby bath soap, baby bath wash, baby lotion, diaper rash cream, bottles, baby sleepers and outfits.

All items collected will be divided between Catholic Charities Adoption Agency in Little Rock, New Beginnings in Benton, and Change Point in Hot Springs.  Reminder:  all gifts are to be unwrapped.  Thank you so much for this loving gift to these blessed children.
ShoesOnce again this year we have placed a decorated shoe box in the A&E hallway for donations to the Village Outreach Shoe Fund.  These donations are used to pay for the shoes given to children in the families receiving a Christmas basket.  Please make checks out to Sacred Heart with the notation, "shoe fund."  Thank you for your generous support in the past!
3rd Degree KofC LogoOur February Knights of Columbus Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 4th. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary followed by a social, dinner and then our meeting. Wives are invited to this meeting. Knights will pay the usual $8.00 and the wives will eat free.

The menu will include Chicken fried steak, Mashed potatoes, Gravy, Green beans, Roll and Dessert. In order to assure adequate quantities, we need your RSVP no later than Thursday, January 30. French Toast 1On Sunday, January 26, the Knights of Columbus would like to invite everyone to a parish breakfast after each of the morning Masses, 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.  This breakfast is being underwritten by Jim and Jo Ann Arnold.  The menu will consist of French Toast, Link Sausage, Hash Browns, Juice, Coffee and Milk.  Breakfast is only $6.00 a plate and as always, children under 12 eat free.  All breakfast proceeds are used to help fund Knights Charitable activities throughout the year.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  See you there!
Respect Life 1*On Sunday, January 19, Fr. John Connell will preside at our annual diocesan Mass for Life.  The Mass will be celebrated in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, 12:00 noon.  Before the Mass, Fr. Connell will lead a Eucharistic Procession for Life through the Riverfront Park in downtown Little Rock.  The Procession begins at 10:00 a.m. and the route is approximately one mile long;  however, there are multiple entry points for those with limited mobility.  Please contact the Respect Life Office 501-664-0340 ext. 326 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. *Also, there will be a Heart for Life Conference on Satuarday, January 18, beginning at 1:00 p.m. - Sunday, January 10, 9:00 a.m., St. John Center, 2500 N. Tyler, Little Rock.  This conference will explore pro-life issues and will include Adoration, plus dinner, breakfast, and overnight accomodations.  Speakers will focus on living courageously pro-life while surrounded by a culture of death.  There will also be activities for children who accompany their parents.  Cost is $40 per person or $20 without an overnight room.  There is a discount for families sharing a room.  Registration deadline is January 10 but space is limited.  To register, please email the Respect Life Office, This email address is being protected from spambots. Hot Springs Village 50th Logo 2020 is here - HSV is turning 50 - and it is time to put our party hats on!

The first 50th Anniversary Celebration event of 2020 is Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Coronado Center.  This 3:00-6:00 p.m. Open House is the "kick-off" event for the entire year to include:  hourly prize drawings, 50th Anniversary merchandise sales, sponsor tables and a continuous running video of HSV over the years.  Also available will be the new HSV 50th Anniversary publication.  Complimentary refreshments will be served.  There are 17 sponsors for the 50th Anniversary year of HSV and Sacred Heart is proud to be one of those 17.  Stay tuned for more events as they are announced.

March For LIfeJoin Us For The 42nd Annual March For Life

The 42nd Annual March for Life will be held on Sunday, January 19 in Little Rock at 2:00 p.m.  The observance is a peaceful and prayerful event that attracts thousands of Arkansans from across the state including churches and families to remember the estimated 60 million unborn children who have been killed by legal abortion.  This event, sponsored by Arkansas Right to Life, will remember the 47th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States on January 22, 1973.  

Staging begins at 1:30 p.m. between Battery and Wolfe Streets on West Capitol Avenue behind the Arkansas State Capitol.  At 2:00 p.m. President Andy Mayberry will lead the marchers along with elected officials, invited dignitaries and other special guests to the steps of the Sate Capitol for a brief program.  We are excited to announce that we have invited Ryan Bomberger, the founder of the Radiance Foundation, as our keynote speaker.  Find out more about Ryan at www.radiancefoundation.org.   Arkansas Right to Life, the state's oldest and largest pro-life organization, is an affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee, the leading voice of the voiceless dedicated to protecting all human beings threatened by abortion, infanticide and euthanasia.
6 Month Unborn BabyYour baby's skin is reddish in color, and veins are visible througn the baby's translucent skin.  Baby's fingers and toe prints are visible.  The eyelids begin to part and the eyes open.  Baby responds to sounds by moving or increasing the pulse.  You may notice jerking motions if baby hiccups.  If born prematurely, your baby may survive after the 23rd week with intensive care.  By the end of the sixth month, your baby is about 12 inches long and weighs about 2 lbs.

Bishop Taylor invites all the men of the parish to the upcoming 10th Arkansas Catholic Men's Conference, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Christ the King Parish, Little Rock.  This is their 10th conference and each year they get bigger and better.  Many men say that this one-day event has helped equip and inspire them to be better fathers, husbands, brothers and sons.  This year's conference is only 3 weeks away.  If you register by January 26, the early bird registration fee is $25.  Registration includes a hearty breakfast from the KofC and a barbeque lunch from Corky's.  Rosary at 7:30 a.m., Mass at 7:50 a.m., Conference is from 9:00-2:00 p.m. and Fellowship concluding at 3:30 p.m.  Registration and information available at www.arcatholicmen.com.   You ay also contact Brian Gilmartin at 501-765-1300 for additional information.

2019 catholic school scholarship appeal brief 2019The 7th Annual Catholic School Scholarship Appeal for the school yeart 2019-2020 is happening now.  A total for the 765 students in Catholic Schools is Arkansas qualified for scolarship assistance this year.  The need is $1.4 million dollars.  Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.  Please make checks payable to: "Diocese of Little Rock" and on the memo line write, "Cath. Schools Schol. Appeal (CSSA)."  You may also give online at www.dolr.org and select, "online giving."  Please give thought and prayer to helping Catholic children of today to receive a good Catholic School education (as may of us did years ago)!
