If you know a fellow parishioner that goes above and beyond in service to our church, please consider nominating them as one of our VIPs (Very Important Parishioners.) You will find nominating forms on the counter in the hallway to the office. Fill it out, place it in the white envelope and then into the manilla envelope. There is a list of all past VIPs there on the counter.
Take a break from the heat and the bustle of everyday life with the One who knows exactly what you need. Come see Jesus with no distractions, any time, any day in the adora-tion chapel. Please CHECK IN as a "visitor" on the I-pad to the right as you enter. Are you willing to share an hour with another adorer? Back up "prayer partners" are responsible for an hour when the regular adorer is unable to fulfill their obligation or if you'd like to adore more frequently, that's certainly possible too!

Call Kathy Clark, Adoration Coordinator 203-816-7737 with questions or to enroll.
After blessing our parish with 2 years of committed service as coordinator of our Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration ministry, Kathy Clark is stepping away from this position as of July 1. We are, therefore, looking for an adorer willing to step up and serve for at least 2 years. We currently have very capable people as division leaders for the 6 time periods of Adoration, so the coordinator is someone who will work with them and seek to enhance both the number of adorers and encouragement of current adorers to stay committed and grow in the Lord through their time spent weekly in the Chapel. This person will receive needed assistance from Fr. Bill in everything they do, so please call Fr. Bill 501 209-2502 if interested or if you have someone to recommend for this position. Some computer skills are required.
Summer is here and our village will be enjoying many young visitors. Outdoor activities will keep them busy most of the time, but we also need to plan some worthwhile activities for the down times. Formed has the answer for you. Under the subject title "Kids" you will find entries suitable for toddlers as well as teens and all those in between. For the young, there are "Jesus Stories", "Brother Francis" and the "Slugs and Bugs Show". Those a little older may enjoy the offer-ings on the three seasons of "Marcam", the "Laugh and Grow Bible for Kids" or the "Saints and Heroes Collec-tion". Sign up for your free parish subscription at www.FORMED.org and be prepared for your visitors to be entertained as they learn.

The Caregiver Support Group meets once a month on the second Wednesday of each month in Classroom D from 11:00am - 12:30pm (NEW TIME). A light lunch is provided. You are welcome to attend even if you do not have the care receiver living in your home. Being a gift bearer is a privilege that we should all consider. Please sign up to present the gifts on the Mass that you regularly attend. It does not have to be just for a special occasion!
You can sign-up to present the gifts at Mass in the white binder located in the Narthex. If you have questions, call Marian LaVelle at 501-209-2435
The Lord is the strength of his people,
A saving refuge for the one he has anointed.
Save your people, Lord, and bless your heritage,
And govern them forever.

cf. Psalm 28 (27):8-9
Six members of the Sacred Heart Cemetery Committee, including new member Sara Pilgrim, met Monday morning on June 17 and performed our annual cemetery water feature and five columbaria clean up along with some trimming. This is a labor of love in which our committee keeps the cemetery grounds and Columbaria a beautiful and comforting final resting place for families to visit deceased loved ones. Please consider our SHJ cemetery as your final resting place. Contact Gary Wolfer 501 204-1192 or garylwolfer@gmail.com for more information.
Thank you for your generous support for last week's collection for the Church in Latin America. Your donations will be used to share the faith with our brothers and sisters in Latin America and the Caribbe-an, so they in turn can share the Good News in their communities. If you missed the collection, it's not too late to give. Visit www.usccb.org/latin-america  and click on "How to Give." Every gift makes a difference.

Our Sociable Six will return for the months of July, August and September 2024. Three couples will be grouped together and then arrange among them-selves to share a simple brunch, lunch or dinner at alternate homes each month. Participants will enjoy getting to know their fellow parishioners in an informal setting. It is a great way for newcomers to get acquainted with members of our parish family. To sign up call Nancy or Howard Emery 815 861-0820 or email emeryfam@hotmail.com. Please provide your name, address, phone number and email address. Final sign up for this session is June 27. You will receive a letter/email with the three couples in your group the first week of July.
In the month of June this year, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus falls on the "First Friday" (June 7) and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 8. We will NOT celebrate Mass on June 1 at 9:00 am and instead do our regular First Saturday devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Rosary following the feast day at 9:00 am Mass on June 8.
