You have an opportunity to do so by shopping for and delivering a food basket of Easter items to our neighbors in need. The Food Basket Committee needs volunteers. Our library has many excellent books relevant to your Lenten reading. There are books on Jesus, Mary, the lives of saints, meditation and prayer along with many other relevant topics. Feel free to take advantage of our library's many books and DVDs.
Just a reminder that Sacred Heart offers Electronic Giving. You can make donations online charging them to a credit card or debiting directly from your bank account. We hope this makes it easier for our parishioners to contribute. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Visit the church website at http://www.hsvsacredheart.com/
  2. Locate the Give Online/IRA/Stocks link on the homepage, then follow instructions to create your online profile and schedule your recurring contributions. Profile will include setting up a password and the credit card or bank account you prefer to use. After that, you'll just need the password to enter.
  3.  The next page will include all contributions you may choose to make. You can select monthly, weekly or a one-time contribution. We suggest that your Regular and Building Fund contributions be done monthly on the same date each month, preferably on the 5th or the 15th, to make it easier for accounting and to reduce charges to the Church. The envelope contributions will be listed along with the date on the envelope. This will enable you, if you wish, to schedule all of your contributions for the year at one time.
We recommend that you save the Giving Page in your Favorites to make it easier to access. If you need help or have any questions, please contact Larry Stein at 501-226-5105 or 501-204-9074.
The 4th Degree Knights of Columbus would like to thank all those who assisted in making the Valentine's Day Dinner/Dance such a success. It was a true time of fellowship celebrated with our sweethearts.

Please join in a new Little Rock Scripture study for Lent: "The Eucharist in Scripture." "The Eucharist in Scripture" will lead us more deeply into the Scriptural roots of the Sacrament--Old and New Testament.

Sign up this weekend, February 18/19 in the Narthex after all Masses. We begin the 5-week journey March 2nd, the week after Ash Wednesday.

All sessions are on Thursday:

**Morning: 9:45 - 11:15 a.m.
**Afternoon: 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
**Night: 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Books are $15. If you have questions, contact Lou Ann Kemper, 469-323-2505 or the office. Join us in learning and growing together in our faith.

Ash WednesdayMasses with the imposition of Ashes will take place this Wednesday, February 22, at 9:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Also, remember Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of mandatory fasting for those ages 21-59 and everyone older than 14 is required to abstain from meat on these two days and ALL Fridays during Lent!
Your support of the Ash Wednesday collection, February 22, 2023, will directly fund priests, nuns and others in ministry in our diocese who serve in parishes and communities that, on their own, would be unable to cover their expenses. One hundred percent of every dollar given to the Ash Wednesday collection is used to support missionary work that reaches out and serves Catholics in our own diocese. Your generosity, as always, is greatly appreciated and helps provide the great gift of our faith to our Catholic brothers and sisters in every part of our state.
This is the final weekend we will be collecting old palms. Please bring in any you may have and place them in the bin in the Narthex for burning and proper disposal.
If you are searching for a meaningful way to deepen your prayer life during Lent, you may want to give Eucharistic Adoration a try. We can enroll you for one hour each week until Easter. Call Kathy Clark or any of the division adorers on www.shjpea.com. Above all, trust Jesus to accept your gift of love and return it to you.

Unfilled hours Saturday 1:00 p.m. (Ken Raney 832-922-2383) & Sunday 8:00 p.m. (Don Ritter 224-659-5001). With questions you may contact Kathy Clark at 203-816-7737 or peruse www.shjpea.com as well.
Our Family Tree in the Lower Hall needs a little "sprucing up". We are looking for a volunteer, with a steady hand, to paint the commission names on the wall to permanently identify the great ministries here at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. If you can help, please call Linda Broome at 870-995-2797. Thanks!
Pastoral Council representatives will be in the Narthex this weekend to take questions, comments, and suggestions from parishioners.  Please stop by the podium before or after Mass.  The Council will review all submissions at their meeting on Friday, February 24th.  Thank you.
