The special collection for theFood Basket Committee will take place the weekend of October 28/29. These donations help us to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for families identified by Jessievill and Fountain Lake school districts. Please be as generous as possible and write "Food Basket" on the memo line of your checks. "Charity begins at home."
The Solemnity of All Saints is this Wednesday, November 1 and IS a holyday that obliges Catholics under pain of mortal sin to come and participate in Mass. Our Masses will be at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Come to celebrate all the saints who are in heaven interceding for us in our pilgrim journey to heaven.
Your baby's skin is reddish in color with visible veins through truaslucent skin. Baby's finger and tow prints are visible and eyelids begin to part and open. There is response to sound by movement or increased pulse. You may notice motion if your baby hiccups. If born prematurely, your baby may survive after the 23rd week with intensive care. By six months your baby is about 12 inches long and should weigh around 2 pounds.
There seems to be some confusion regarding the "Give Us This Day" and "Word Among Us" books. If you did not sign up and pay in August (the new subscription year has already begun) to receive either of these books, and your name is not on the sheet on the table in from of the books,  PLEASE do not take a book. People have been adding their names to the list and taking a book, which means there are not enough books for those that signed up and paid for one. If you don't see your name on the list and you think you paid, please talk to someone in the office. Thank you!
The Knights of Columbus are howting our annual dinner for the widows of past Knights on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The event will begin with Mass at 4:00 p.m. Our Assembly Color Corps will help to honor SHJ Knights who have passed. Following Mass, the Council will have a meal catered by Home Plate featuring Salisbury Steak with mushroom gravy, rosemary roasted potatoes, asparagus and fresh baked yeast roll. There will be Fr Bill's delicious ice cream for deset. Invitations to widows have been sent but if we missed anyone, please call  Gary Wolfer at 501-204-1192 ASAP so that we may include you in this meaningful Mass and dinner.
If you were unable to have your photo taken last month, now is your chance! There is 1 final session date before publising the new directory. The company will not accept previous directory or personal photos. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 26 from 1 - 7:00 p.m.

They will be relocated to a special table in front of the church for All Souls Day where they will remain during the month of November. National Eucharistic Revival logoThe USCCB (United States Catholic Conference of Bishops) is launching a Eucharistic Revival beginning with the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ June 18 and 19, 2022 and it will conclude with the Solemnity of Pentecost 2025.  It will be a time of grace to teach, worship and embrace the Eucharist as the source and summit of the Church.  To begin this revival, Bishop Taylor will have a Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew on June 18 at 4:30 p.m.  The homily from that Mass will be shared as the homily at all the Catholic Churches of Arkansas, including of course Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church June 18 and 19.

There will be an opportunity for all Catholics to deepen their relationship with God and grow in their understanding of the "Real Presence" of Christ in the Eucharist at Christ the King Church in Little Rock (4000 N Rodney Parham Rd) on Saturday, June 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Talks, breakout sessions and prayer (including Mass at 4:00 p.m. with Bishop Taylor as the main celebrant) will make this a memorable and blessed day for all who participate. The Ladies of Sacred Heart are excited to be hosting their "Fall Into Fun" card party on Monday, November 6, in the Lower Hall. Grab your friends, men or women, and organize your table for cards, mahjong, UNO, Poker (no gambling please) or whatever game you enjoy to play! Game play will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.; doors open at 12:30 p.m. Red and white "adult beverages" will available for a cash donation. Other refreshments to be served free of charge. a 50/50 raffle, themed baskets, silent auction items and door prizes add to the fun and help LOSH support several local charities. In anticipation of All Souls Day (Thursday, November 2) and the month of All Souls, please remember to use the envelope (and drop it in the collection basket by Nov 1) in yout stewardship mailing to list the names of your deceased loved ones that you would like remembered in all November Masses. Any donation you choose to give will support the "One Church" initiative to help the Blessed Stanley Rother mission parish in Decatur, AR. All Souls Masses will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. prayers will be offered at our Columbarium following the 9:00 a.m. Mass and at 
Cedarvale Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. that day.
Helping Hands Ministry is proud to have been part of the solution for our parishioners in need since the 1980s. Part of the mission of Helping Hands Ministry is to provide transportation to Mass, medical appointments and escort shopping for necessities to registered parishioners who are either temporarily or permanently unable to drive themselves. We have a special ongoing need for drivers, particularly for transport to medical treatments, appointments and day surgeries. If you would like to become a Helping Hands volunteer, applications are always available at our station in the Narthes. You may call a coordinator for more details or if you have questions.
