The HSV Pro-Life Celebration will be Friday, May 2 at the Balboa Outreach Center 5:30-8:00 pm. All proceeds go to Arkansas Right to Life. Donations will be collected for our local pregnancy centers, Change Point and New Beginnings. Dinner will be catered by Clampits Country Kitchen.
The guest speaker is Joseph K Wood. Abandoned as a newborn in the cold streets of Chicago, he was saved and taken to St. Vincent's Orphange. He was eventually adopted at 10 years old. Joseph became a teen leader in the tough neighborhood of Jeffrey Manor.
After college, Joseph went on to hold key leadership positions as a bank examiner with Illinois Commis-sioners of Banks, assistant director with the University of Chicago Booth School, head of recruitment at Walmart International and Deputy Secretary of State in Arkansas. In 2016, Joseph was elected the first black county judge in Arkansas stare history and was re-elected in 2018. He was appointed as Cabinet Secretary of Transformation & Shared Services for Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in 2023.
