The Family Assistance Committee of the parish Social Justice and Charitable Outreach Commission for 8 years has been assisting less fortunate families in teh area in times of emergency. Funds from the parish have been allocated and are just one avenue of support. We direct families to agencies that provide services that support them in their needs. Members of this committee meet on a monthly basis to review active cases that are still being addressed. Potential clients are interviewed by 2 team members who help assess what the person or family might need short term and, when necessary, long term to attain a more stable and even self-sufficient situation.
