Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas
Those who are still in school know that each year they will be in a classroom with students who are at their level of education background.  It would be odd to put fifth graders in with third graders, or third graders with fifth graders.  This should also be the case with people who are in the process of becoming  a Catholic.

Since everyone who comes to us has a different faith background and have had various experiences of the Catholic faith, it makes little sense to put everyone in the same setting for formation in the ways and beliefs of the Catholic faith. We want to help anyone who shows an interest in the Catholic faith to move in that direction with the grace of God and our assistance.

Please contact Deacon Larry (922-3283) or Deacon John (226-5506) to get more information.  The structure and timetable for formation will vary, so we need to find out who is interested and where each person is in their faith lives right now.
Getting a "thank you" note in the mail speaks nicely of a person or persons who are appreciative of something done for them, or a gift given to them.  Lately, I have been getting quite a few "thank you" notes from organizations from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  Your generosity of money in our collections has led our Social Justice and Charitable Outreach Committee to receive a donation from our parish.

Soon we will be inserting in the bulletin a list of the organizations that were helped in the last fiscal year and how much was given to them.  I want to THANK YOU, our parishioners, for your generosity in general, and for all the "special needs" collections that we take up during the year.  It's a blessing to be surrounded by such giving people, who give in so many different ways.
A few weekends ago, I promoted two publications. One of these, "Living the Faith" (1564 Fencorp Drive Fenton, MO 63026-2942) which has a daily reflection from one of the readings for Mass every day of the year ($10 a year), also has a publication for kids (8 to 12 years of age) which helps them daily to grow in relationship with Jesus and the Church. It is called "Living Faith-Kids" and costs $12 a year. What a great gift to give to grandchildren. I also mentioned a book entitled "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo, about a four year old who, after a near-death experience, tells some astonishing things to his parents about heaven and people he has seen there. It is a New York Times best seller, and gives us a great deal to ponder about heaven. I hope you will consider these offerings.
