Your prayers are needed more then ever! Please pray in solidarity with the 40 Day for Life Campaign in Little Rock, February 26 - April 5.Due to the coronavirus spread our Bishop and our government have asked us not to gather in groups of more than 10 people. So please, don't bring a group out to pray - but please do pray. As the virus continues to spread, we may be asked to shelter in place. If this happens, please stay home. Yes, our presence in front of the abortion facility is important. We know that lives are saved when people are there! But let us place our hope in Christ and trust lives will be saved through our prayers no matter where we pray.

Catholic Relief Service's effort to care for the poor. Sacred Heart continues to collect the Rice Bowls in the narthex through Sunday, April 26, 2020. Frr. Bill would like you to know that if you want to donate and don't want to leave the safety of your home or cannot bring your rice bowl to the church, that you can give online. Our Church Library is a great resource for Lent!Books on Saints, Books on Reflection, Books on Scripture, Books on the History of the Church, Books on Faith, Books on Prayer, Devotional Books and even Tapes and DVD's available. Books, etc. will be available in the Narthex on Ash Wednesday and before and after Masses during Lent for checking out from the Library. Any parishioner is welcome to go inside the Sacred Heart Church Library to check out materials on their own as well. You may pick up your blessed palms in the Narthex or outside of the church on a table. We have a FREE booklet for you to take home to use during the days of the Easter Triduum. It is our hope that the booklet will make this time more sacred and a blessing for you and your family even if we cannot gather in church to celebrate the liturgies of the Triduum, the great "Three Days." Blessings to you! 
Ash Wednesday is February 26. That is the day to begin praying for a special loved one. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Rosary Makers are once again making the Lenten Rosaries available beginning February 12. One basket will be in the narthex and another in the hallway. These are FREE of charge to anyone who would like them but supplies are limited so get yours early. How the Virus Stole Easter

Twas late in ‘19 when the virus began
Bringing chaos and fear to all people, each land.
People were sick, hospitals full,
Doctors overwhelmed, no one in school.
As winter gave way to the promise of spring,
The virus raged on, touching peasant and king.
People hid in their homes from the enemy unseen.
They YouTubed and Zoomed, social-distanced, and cleaned.
April approached and churches were closed.
“There won’t be an Easter,” the world supposed.
“There won’t be church services, and egg hunts are out.
No reason for new dresses when we can’t go about.”
Holy Week started, as bleak as the rest.
The world was focused on masks and on tests.
“Easter can’t happen this year,” it proclaimed.
“Online and at home, it just won’t be the same.”
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the days came and went.
The virus pressed on; it just would not relent.
The world woke Sunday and nothing had changed.
The virus still menaced, the people, estranged.
“Pooh pooh to the saints,” the world was grumbling.
“They’re finding out now that no Easter is coming.
“They’re just waking up! We know just what they’ll do!
Their mouths will hang open a minute or two,
And then all the saints will all cry boo-hoo.
“That noise,” said the world, “will be something to hear.”
So it paused and the world put a hand to its ear.
And it did hear a sound coming through all the skies.
It started down low, then it started to rise.
But the sound wasn’t depressed.
Why, this sound was triumphant!
It couldn’t be so!
But it grew with abundance!
The world stared around, popping its eyes.
Then it shook! What it saw was a shocking surprise!
Every saint in every nation, the tall and the small,
Was celebrating Jesus in spite of it all!
It hadn’t stopped Easter from coming! It came!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the world with its life quite stuck in quarantine
Stood puzzling and puzzling.
“Just how can it be?”
“It came without bonnets, it came without bunnies,
It came without egg hunts, cantatas, or money.”
Then the world thought of something it hadn’t before.
“Maybe Easter,” it thought, “doesn’t come from a store.
Maybe Easter, perhaps, means a little bit more.”
And what happened then?
Well....the story’s not done.
What will YOU do?
Will you share with that one
Or two or more people needing hope in this night?
Will you share the source of your life in this fight?
The churches are empty - but so is the tomb,
And Jesus is victor over death, doom, and gloom.
So this year at Easter, let this be our prayer,
As the virus still rages all around, everywhere.
May the world see hope when it looks at God’s people.
May the world see the church is not a building or steeple.
May the world find Faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection,
May the world find Joy in a time of dejection.
May 2020 be known as the year of survival,
But not only that -
Let it start a revival.
Due to the most recent changes in the Income Tax laws, the Finance Council has decided to make contribution statements available to those parishioners who specifically request them. There is a table in the Narthex where you can indicate if you would like Sheila, our bookkeeper, to prepare a 2019 contribution statement on your behalf. You may also stop by the front office or call Sheila directly at 501-922-2062, ext. 12 to request your statement. 
If you haven't picked up your Catholic Extension, Illustrations of Catholic Life in the Twentieth Century, 2020 appointment calendar there are a few remaining in the narthex of the church. These are an annual tradition parisioners seek out from year to year. Sacred Heart of Jesus was fortunate enough to have our own parishioner, Ike Eisenhauer, from State Farm/Ike Eisenhauer Insurance Agency, 4705 N. Hwy. 7, sponsor this time honored tradition.
