Those attending will leave the church parking lot at 4:30 p.m. for the trip to Dickey-Stephens (Travelers) Park in North Little Rock.  Once there, we will have a two-hour, all-you-can-eat dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, etc. at the food pavilion in the stadium.  Game time is 7:10 p.m., and we will board the buses for the return trip at approsimately 10:00 p.m.  The cost for this event is $38 per person, which includes the bus ride, food and reserved seats.  We believe we can easily fill two buses.  There will be prizes.

If you want to attend this game, please send your check to Buddy Dixon, 5 Sur de Curso Lane, HSV, 71909 as soon as possible.  Each bus has a capacity of 56 people and inclusion in this event is on a first-come, first-served basis. So, get your checks in early to ensure your ticket in this fun evening of baseball!  Your check is your reservation - as made payable to Sacred Heart Men's Club (SHMC).  For more information, call Buddy Dixon at 922-2811.

This is not a fund raiser for the Men's Club; members are only acting as facilitators for this event.

backpack food programThe Fountain Lake Schools are having a one-time food pantry for families of students who have been receiving food from the Backpack Program throughout the year.  They have asked for donations of food or money to help purchase food items.  In order to help with this effort, we will donate all food received the weekend of May 30/31 to this food pantry rather than to Jackson House.  The children in these school families will not be receiving breakfast and lunch at school during the summer; so, please be generous. Please donate the same items as you would for Jackson House: canned tuna and chicken, canned fruit, vegetables, pork & beans, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, etc.
bowlingWe are exploring interest in a summer Sacred Heart Bowling League for 12-13 weeks starting in late May or early June. The league would occur (depending on the preference of those who want to participate) either on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. or Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.  We need regulars to be on a four-person team and substitutes who can fill in for regulars on occasion.

A sheet is available in the narthex for you to sign-up.  The cost will be $11 or $12 a week for the bowling and some prize money.  Please join us.
RosaryThis is the season of joy, and I want to say "thank you" to all of the Rosary Makers. You give the gift of time, treasure and talent all year long, remembering the least of the poor in the missions and various parts of the world.  Rosaries are also sent to those in prison and other locations requested in our own beloved country.  The missions, in turn, remember us in their prayers and the Holy masses celebrated on our behalf.

This fall alone we sent out, from September to December, a total of 3,595 rosaries with prayer cards, religious pictures and prayer booklets.  Another "thank you" to all members of our parish for donating these items to be sent with our rosaries.

I hope you all had a Blessed Christmas and have a wonderful New Year.  Sine we began our guild here at Sacred Heart, we have given away a total of 66,635 rosaries.  May God bless all of you for your suport.  Without you, this would not be possible.  We are always looking for new members as the need for rosaries continue to grow.  For more information, and if you would like to join our lively group, just call Delores Griffin at 226-5647.  Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 8, in Classroom C after the 9:00 a.m. Mass.

There will be 6 sessions facilitated by Deacon John and each one will last approximately one and a half hours.  If you know someone that is grieving and could use support, anyone, they don't have to be a parishioner, invite them to attend.  The size of the group is limited so if you wish to attend, please make a reservation by calling Deacon John at 226-5506 or 226-9035.
