Our Sociable Six will return for the months of July, August and September 2024. Three couples will be grouped together and then arrange among them-selves to share a simple brunch, lunch or dinner at alternate homes each month. Participants will enjoy getting to know their fellow parishioners in an informal setting. It is a great way for newcomers to get acquainted with members of our parish family. In the month of June this year, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus falls on the "First Friday" (June 7) and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 8. We will NOT celebrate Mass on June 1 at 9:00 am and instead do our regular First Saturday devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Rosary following the feast day at 9:00 am Mass on June 8.
This is a new program. Improve your driving skills and be a safe driver. The program will take place Friday, June 21 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Upper Hall.
Sign up for this "one day course" in the A & E Hallway. On program day bring your driver's license and AARP card along with a CHECK payable to AARP for $20. Non AARP members should bring a check for $25. Contact Gene Widlowski at 501 922-4145 for more information.
Our parish will celebrate its patronal feast firstly with Mass at 5:00 pm, Friday June 7 (no 9:00 am Mass that day) then with a dinner hosted by the Ladies of the Sacred Heart in the Lower Hall. Our Knights of Columbus will offer adult beverages for a cash donation. Iced tea and water will be available free of charge. The meal, catered by Corky's BBQ, is also free to parishioners. The menu includes pulled pork (some sausage and chicken) served on buns with coleslaw, baked beans potato salad and dessert. The entertainment will be provided by SHJ parishioner Steve Gunton. You may sign up in the Narthex by June 4 before noon or call the church office 501 922-2062 x10 by then and indicate your name and how many from your family will attend. There is limited seating so sign up as soon as you can!

The June 4 meeting will be in the Lower Hall with the praying of the Rosary starting at 5:00 pm. Our guest speakers Pietro & Jackie Tomassi will share some of their Prison Ministry experiences. In addition, there will be several presentations awarded to special guests. Our caterer, Home Plate, will serve pork chops, scalloped potatoes, broccoli and dessert. Cost is $15. The Feast of Corpus Christi was originated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday. Today in the United States in order to make it easier for Catholics to attend Mass it is celebrated this Sunday. The Caregiver Support Group meets once a month on the second Wednesday of each month in Classroom D from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm (NEW TIME). A light lunch is provided. You are welcome to attend even if you do not have the care receiver living in your home. The Knights of Columbus would like to invite parishioners to a free will offering breakfast after both Masses Sunday, June 9. Come and enjoy scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits with gravy, sausage, coffee and juice. All proceeds are used to help fund Knight charitable activities throughout the year.
