Social SixWe are reinstating our Sociable Six Program for the months of May, June and July 2022.  The program was very popular in the past and is very simple and flexible.  Three couples will be grouped together.  They will then arrange among themselves to share a simple dinner, lunch or brunch at alternate homes, once each month.  We need both new members and many long-term members to sign up.  Participants have enjoyed getting to know their fellow parishioners in an informal setting.  It is a great way for newcomers to get acquainted with the members of their parish family.  To sign up call Dotti or Dennis Kessen at 501-226-5090 or email Dotti at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Final sign up date for the summer session is April 15th.  You will then received a letter with the three couples in your group by the end of April.  Enjoy!

Yoga stretchYoga ChairSacred Heart of Jesus offers balance, strength training and light to moderate aerobic activity classes.  This is our "Fit 'n Balance," classes offered Tuesday and Thursdays at 10:00 am and 11:30 am in the Lower Hall.  We also offer Chair Stretch & Balance and Mat Yoga on those same days at 1:00 pm.  Chair Stretch & Balance is in the Lower Hall and Mat Yoga is in the Classrooms A&B.  Having good balance is an important way to prevent falls, but there are many benefits to regular exercise, especially as we age.  Physical activity along with a healthy diet are two of the most important lifestyle factors that determine whether or not we age gracefully.  Finding an exercise program that is fun and engaging is essential if we want to create a lasting habit.  Senior citizens should choose an exercise program that they can continue to do over the course of time as their bodies change.  If you need more information, email Linda Broome This email address is being protected from spambots. food basketLent has begun with encouragement to "Fast, Pray and Give Alms."  One way to do those very things is to take part in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Easter Food Basket program.  While we are preparing our souls for the Triduum, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church is preparing to provide families in need with a joyful Easter meal.  To do this, we are asking for volunteers to shop and deliver the food for a meal of celebration at Easter Time.  Easter falls on Sunday, April 17.  The Food Basket Committee will provide our volunteers with the name and contact information of a family in our service area.  The volunteer contacts the family, does the shopping for the food, including fresh meats and vegetables, and delivers the purchases to the family the week before Easter (April 10 through April 16).  Receipts for the money spent may be sent to Food Basket Committee and the money will be reimbursed from a parish fund managed by the committee.  Parish organizations will be asking for volunteers at their April meetings or interested parties may call Ed Keearns at 501-922-3832.
