As we see our nation struggle to maintain its identity as a Christian nation, we can look internally, right here in our parish, to find a bastion of faith and fraternity. The Knights of Columbus was proclaimed by Pope John Paul II "the strong right arm of the church." This declaration is an invitation to those men of our parish who have not yet joined our local Council. Please join us for our meeting on September 2 in the main hall. You'll be served an excellent meal, at no cost, socialize a bit with our members and learn more about our organization. Unity, Charity, Fraternity and Patriotism are our principle tenants......Spirituality is our compass. If you're interested in joing us this Tuesday evening, call Gary Wolfer at 501-204-1192 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. The Ladies of the Sacred Heart sponsor a Shawl Ministry for the parish. Members meet the first Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in one of the classrooms. This year's date to begin will be September 2. New knitters and crocheters are always welcome.
We make shawls for anyone who is ill, old, cold or in need of spiritual comfort. (We are very grateful that the parish covers our expenses.) Either Father Bill or Deacon Bernie bless each of the shawls made. We usually give them out after our monthly meeting of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart on the second Monday morning each month, September through May. You can also call Dee Kapple at 915-9331 if you need a shawl for someone; or, if you need more information. Please join us.
