Funeral In Loving MemoryDon't miss the opportunity for you and your spouse to honor your fallen fellow Knights and their beloved widows for Mass and dinner on Tuesday evening, November 5.  Cost is only $19.00 per person for the special dinner in the Lower Hall following the Memorial Mass at 5:00 p.m.  Tickets are available by calling the KofC ticket line 501-404-5195 or by calling Jim Dixon at 214-632-2351.
Fashion ShowA Fashion Show, presented by the Ladies of the Sacred Heart, will be presented Monday, October 21, in the Lower Hall.  Fashions by Kohl's will be modeled by the women of our parish.  Lunch, caterd by Dolce Vita, will be served.  A Silent Auction will also be held.  Cost of a ticket is $17, and can be purchased NOW from your guild captains.  Tickets are NOW available to ALL ladies of the Parish and HSV.  Please call Marion LaVelle, 501-209-2435, for tickets.

food basketWe are looking for volunteers for the 2019-2020 food basket programs for Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.   A second collection will be taken up the week end of October 26/27.  The money collected will fund the food basket program from Thanksgiving 2019 through Christmas and in to 2020 to cover the Easter holidays.  Hopefully, enough will be collected to also cover a basket of food for families with school aged children at home through the summer.

At the October meetings of the various service organizations of Sacred Heart, sign-up sheets will be available.  Or, if you wish, you can volunteer to shop and deliver a basket of food for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, by contacting Ed Keearns via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. All Souls DayIn addition to Mass on All Souls' Day, Saturday, November 2 at 9:00 a.m., we will process after Mass to the Sacred Heart Columbarium reciting the Rosary and offering prayers for the Faithful Departed once we get there.  Prayers will be offered at CedarVale Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. that same day.  Come join us as we carry on the long tradition of special prayers for the dead on this day.
PilatesSacred Heart of Jesus has been privileged to offer fitness classes led by, Linda Broome, on Mondays & Wednesdays.  Cathy Spell, a talented, certified Pilates instructor, has offered her expertise to lead fitness classes on Tuesdays & Thursday.  Pilates focuses on posture, balance, flexibility, mental focus, strength and the vital importance of breathing and oxygenation of the entire body.  Pilates is meant to produce a body in which mobility and strength improves, resulting in healthy and active aging.  Cathy invites you to attend her demonstration class which she will hold on Saturday, September 28, after the 5:00 p.m. Mass and on Sunday, September 29, between the morning Masses at 9:30 a.m.  Classes begin on Tuesday, October 1 at 11:15 a.m. and at 12:15, in the Upper Hall.
Silver RoseOn Wednesday, October 30, the Knights of Columbus, Council 10208, is sponsoring a program to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The devotion is part of the KofC Silver Rose program and honors Our Lady as the Patroness of the Americas and affirms the sanctity of all human life.  The Silver Rose is carried by Knights from city to city, district to district, and council to council from Canada to the Cathedral in Mexico City.  The Silver Rose will arrive in Mexico City on the Feast Day of our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12.

The rose symbolizes one of the roses that fell from Juan Diego's cloak when he delivered the Virgin's message to the bishop on December 12, 1531.  The program this year will include a Rosary, Mass, and additional Prayers.  The Rosary will begin at 8:30 a.m.  KofC members are encouraged to attend, and all parishioners are invited to join us in this celebration.
RosaryYou are invited to join and pray with us at our 9th annual Rosary Rally as we join approximately 22,000 Rosary rallies around the world.

UnplannedThe Sacred Heart Respect Life Commission will present the movie "Unplanned," the powerful true story of Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson's dramatic transformation from abortion advocate to one of the most dynamic and passionate prolife promoters and speakers in America, will be shown in our parish on Sunday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall. Donations wil be accepted to defray cost of snacks.

Walking With PurposeSign-ups continue for the Walking with Purpose course "Discovering Our Dignity" which begins on September 16, 2019, running each Monday at 1:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. for 22 weeks.  This program will explore the lives of the women of the Bible, focusing on how their stories can impact the lives of women of faith today.  Registration is $40 for the Study Guide.  Be sure to sign-up before September 1 to insure receipt of the Study Guide at the first lesson.  Subsequent sign-ups will be accepted, although shipping charges may apply as women must order the book individually on the WWP website.  For more information, contact Paul Doyle, 922-5771 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Religious EdREY Classes began on wednesday, September 11, various classrooms, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

REY is looking for any new or gently used CD Players.

We have a full volunteer staff of REY teachers.  Thank you for your devotion to this ministry, a true blessing.  We still have a great need for CD players to be donated for classroom use.  If you have one to donate, please contact Margaret at 501-213-5923.
Romeo ClubThe ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) group will be gathering for their third time at Debra's Restaurant, 198 Carmona Road, October 14 (second Monday of the month) at 7:30 a.m. for conversation and tummy filling.  No need to sign up, just show up.  Contact Randy Schnobelen, 501-204-9486 with any questions or if a ride is needed to attend.
LOSHLadies of the Sacred Heart (LOSH) will meet on Monday, October 14, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass in the Lower Hall for our monthly meeting and luncheon.  All ladies of the parish are invited.  Our guest speaker is Captain Jayson Neighbors, HSVFD, Cortez Fire House.  He will be speaking on the silent killer and the importance of having not only a smoke alarm but a carbon monoxide monitor.  Hope to see you there.

The Knights of Columbus Fall Fest benefits People with Intellectual Disabilities and will be held in the Lower Hall of the church.  The event will feataure Dinner, Live and Silent Auctions, DJ Music and Dancing.

Dinner will include:  Turkey and Dressing, Cranberries and Vegetables, Apple Pie with Father Bill's Ice Cream.
