In 2015, eleven parishioners decided to create an endowment through the Arkansas Community Foundation that would provide our church with an annual income, in perpetuity, to be used strictly for local charitable outreach use. The Finance Council has decided that we would not withdraw any funds from the endowment until in reaches $100,000. At that time the Church should receive about $2,500 every year, in perpetuity, for charitable uses. Many have donated to the endowment by making memorial contributions for deceased church members. Today our endowment has grown to $53,000. Please consider our endowment for memorial or recognition gifts and remember it when making your will or trust arrangements. Envelopes are available in the Narthex for your convenience. If you have any questions, please contact Carolyn Bowers (915-8022, This email address is being protected from spambots. FORMED has many courses which are designed to help us appreciate Jesus' teaching. Dr. Ben Gray in "Our Father: a Short Course" presents six episodes lasting about thirty minutes each which help us when we pray the "Our Father." Gray leads us line by line through the prayer that is considered a gift from the Lord and points out the New Testament scripture passages that show us how to pray.
A great BIG thank you to all who participated in the Wednesday Soup and Sandwich event during Lent. As we gathered in the lower hall after 5 o'clock Mass, we were greeted with the savory smell of soup. A special thanks to our Knights of Columbus, Ladies of Sacred Heart, Men's Club and Parish Life who generously provided the delicious homemade soups and scrumptious sandwiches. We even had sweets to enjoy, including Fr. Bill's delicious homemade ice cream at the March 17th event-giving a whole new meaning to St. Patrick's Day green! The videos were very uplifting and if you missed any of them, the series in its entirety, can be found and watched through our parish subscription on www.FORMED.org.
Our community changed lives this Lent, and CRS Rice Bowl wants to say THANK YOU! Don't forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl or donate online at www.crsricebowl.org/give.
Plan to come to our Parish Mission, Sunday, May 9 through Wednesday, May 12, 2021. The presenter will be Fr. Ken Geraci, C.P.M., who will preach on "Why Be Catholic?" Each session will begin at 6:30 p.m. in church. Hear his compelling story of a series of personal conversions in his life that led him from agnosticism to the Catholic Church. Truly a story of God's Divine Mercy.
A special highlight will be a healing service. This is a very significant opportunity. Fr. Ken Geraci will also be offering to hear confessions both before and after the presentations. Come, let us gather to strengthen our parish in these difficult days and celebrate God's Divine Mercy.
In the year of St. Joseph "Formed" has several interesting offerings. Men of our parish are being invited by FORMED to take a 30-day journey in a book by Mark Hartfiel, "The School of Nazareth: A Spiritual Journey With St. Joseph." Each day this book provides a short reading and in this 30-day journey, you will discover how to become a man after God's own heart!
Another offering that the parish might find interesting is a talk by Mark Miravalle called "St. Joseph: Patron of the Universal Church." The holy and hidden figure of St. Joseph comes to light in this captivating presentation. Listen to the speaker delve into the fascinating and hidden life of the man whom God chose to "substitute" for himself when "the word became flesh to dwell among us." To see what other interesting things there are to offer go to www.FORMED.org.
