After the meal, around 6:00 p.m. we will watch a video from the "SEARCH" series by Augustine Institution. It's goal is to "reignite the fire in those who need a primer on the foundational questions of our faith such as, Who am I?, What am I searching for?, Who is Jesus?, Why do we need a church? and Is there a God?" These videos will run for the duration of our weekly Lenten Wednesday Event through March 31. Each video has someting to offer on its own, so it is not vital that you attend all the sessions. And, the series, in its entirety, can be found and watched through our parish subscription on www.FORMED.ORG.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR NEXT WEEK:
The March 24 Lenten event has been cancelled due to unavailability of the lower hall so they can set up for the COVID shots taking place on March 25.

For Catholics, the Mass is entirely familiar and treasured, but often not well understood. Would you like to experience the Mass more fully? On FORMED.ORG, there is an audio titled, "Scriptural Walk Through the Mass." Dr. Edward Sri, a scripture scholar, takes his audience on a journey through the sacred liturgy that is sure to help Catholics experience the Mass in a brand new way.
Dr. Sri shares the historical and biblical roots of the words, prayers, actions and getures contained within the Mss. There is also an optional short bonus audio by Scott Hahn called "The Supper." In it he shares his conversion experience of attending Mass for the first time.

Please look for more in Fr. Bill's column next week about the Sacred Heart of Jesus Prayer Warrior Ministry. For this week we are putting out a simple and heartfelt plea for more of our parishioners to consider becoming a part of this wonderfully rewarding and very impactful ministry of praying for people who have a serious and immediate need for prayer for themselves or a loved one who is ill. Please call Marvin Young, the current Adminstrator of this ministry at 915-8028 to find out what is involved in being a Sacred Heart of Jesus Prayer Warrior. With COVID restrictions keeping many at home, this perhaps is the time to answer the call to do the Lord's work for people in need from the safety of your home. Please consider responding!
In "7 Secrets of Confession," an inspiring presentation by popular speaker Vinny Flynn explores the "hidden" truths of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, presenting what to many will be a whole new way of approaching Confession. He invites you to begin an exciting personal journey to healing and holiness. If you do not yet look forward to Confession in the same way you look forward to Communion, this will change your life.
During the 2020 calendar year Sacred Heart delivered food baskets to 172 families which included 542 children. This was due to the generosity of time, talent and resources of our very giving, supportive parish. These baskets have been a real blessing for many families during this time of economic problems due to the COVID pandemic. Please continue to support our efforts, starting with Easter of this year, as we hopefully see a end to these difficult economic times.

The Pastoral Council recommended that stryofoam containers and plasticware not be used in the Lower Hall. Fr. Bill endorsed this recommendation. All organizations can use existing supplies, but after that, please order cardboard containers, not styrofoam. This would be primarily for to-go orders. Also, use of plasticware is strongly discouraged since we have dishes and silverware available. The council feels that we can't simply talk about being good stewards of the earth, we have to take actions that are in harmony with that goal.
